André Fujita is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of São Paulo (USP), affiliated with the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics. His research focuses on bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and computational biology. He holds a PhD in Sciences (Bioinformatics) from USP (2007) and a Bachelor's in Computer Science from IME-USP (2003). He became a full professor at IME-USP in 2016.
Research interests include systems biology, data structures, and neuroimaging analysis. His work bridges statistical methodologies with biological applications, such as clustering techniques for fMRI data and network entropy analysis in ADHD studies.
Notable awards include the Best Doctoral Thesis by the Brazilian Computer Society and a CAPES Honorable Mention. He also received a postdoctoral fellowship from RIKEN, Japan. Courses taught include Introduction to Systems Biology and Data Structures.
