Professor Andrzej Ryszard Filistowicz (born April 26, 1947) is a Polish academic specializing in genetics of quantitative traits and animal improvement methods at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. He serves as Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Animal Breeding since 2012 and heads the Postgraduate Program in Cattle Breeding Planning and Organization.
His research focuses on quantitative trait genetics, cattle breeding optimization, and breeding value prediction methodologies. Filistowicz developed Poland's Red-and-White cattle breeding program (1996) and six practical computer systems for animal breeding. His work bridges theoretical genetics with agricultural applications, particularly in Sudetes beef cattle and fur animal production.
