Andrzej Piotrowski

Dr. Andrzej Piotrowski is an Associate Professor at the University of Gdańsk's Faculty of Social Sciences, serving in the Institute of Psychology's Division of Penitentiary Psychology and Rehabilitation. His research examines stress and coping mechanisms in specialized populations including military personnel, incarcerated individuals, and women in conflict zones, with additional focus on humor's psychological functions in organizational settings.

Research spans military psychology, cross-cultural stress responses, aggression in sports, and rehabilitation psychology. Recent publications explore humor as a military coping mechanism, religious fundamentalism's relationship to radicalization, and war trauma impacts on women across Eastern European populations.
