Dr. Andrienne C. Friedli is a Professor of Chemistry at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and serves in special research administrative roles. She holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin, an MS from Yale University, and a BA from Rice University. Her research focuses on organic materials chemistry, including organosiloxane films, optical biosensors, boron cluster liquid crystals, and 3D visualization in education. She has managed over $4.6M in grants and mentored 56 undergraduates, 11 graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers.
As an Office of Research leader, she directed the Center for Advancement of Research and Scholarship (CARS), the Interdisciplinary Microanalysis and Imaging Center (MIMIC), and the X-Ray Computational and Experimental Laboratory (XCEL-3D). She pioneered undergraduate research programs, restructured grant processes, and expanded Scholars Week into a multi-day event.
