Prof. Dr. med. Andri Rauch is Clinical Director and Chief Physician of the University Clinic for Infectious Diseases at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, and Professor at the University of Bern. Since his return from a two-year research stay in Perth, Australia, he has steadily advanced through leadership roles at Inselspital, serving as Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Deputy Chief Physician, and Medical Director of the Inselspital Vaccination Center.

Research Focus
Prof. Rauch’s research is dedicated to improving the efficacy and tolerability of antiviral therapies for chronic viral infections, with a particular emphasis on HIV and viral hepatitis. Leveraging cutting-edge analytical methods and the extensive Swiss HIV Cohort Study network, his work aims to enhance prevention, treatment, and care strategies for individuals living with these conditions.

Clinical & Administrative Roles
Since 2025, Prof. Rauch has served as Clinic Director and Chief Physician. From 2021 to 2023 he was Medical Director of the Inselspital Vaccination Center, and from 2013 onward he has held progressive leadership positions, including Deputy Clinic Director and Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases.
