Andrew Whittaker

Andrew Whittaker is a Professor and Senior Group Leader at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) and School of Chemistry and Molecular Biosciences, University of Queensland. He directs research programs exceeding $62M in competitive funding, focusing on polymer applications in health and energy technologies.

Research spans:

• Fluorinated polymers for 19F MRI contrast agents
• Anti-fouling biomaterials for medical devices
• Photolithography materials for semiconductor manufacturing
• Perfluorinated compound remediation

Publications demonstrate innovations in nano-material design, including the development of ultra-stable solid-state batteries and fluorinated nanoparticles for medical imaging.
