Andrew Vardy is a Professor jointly appointed to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and the Department of Computer Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He holds a B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering (Memorial), M.Sc. in Evolutionary and Adaptive Systems (University of Sussex), and PhD in Computer Science (Carleton University).
His research explores swarm robotics, biologically inspired algorithms, autonomous navigation, and multi-robot systems. Key areas include visual homing, distributed construction, environmental sensing, and robotic simulation tools. He leads the Memorial University Bots Lab, developing applications for marine and terrestrial environments.
