Andrew Taylor

Dr Andrew Taylor is a Teaching Fellow at the Department of Defence Studies, King's College London, based at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in Shrivenham. He serves as the ICSC(M) Course Director and previously taught Politics and International Relations at Lancaster University. His expertise spans maritime strategy/security, international relations, and security studies.

Research focuses on evolving maritime strategic thought, naval roles in policy, and Chinese maritime modernization narratives. Collaborative work with Lancaster University analyzed Chinese political narratives influencing naval developments. He presented research at the 2015 Statesmen and Seapower conference.

Dr Taylor engages with institutions like the Royal Navy and US Naval War College through his PhD research. He contributes to the Corbett Seapower Centre, which advances maritime policy analysis. His work bridges historical strategic concepts with contemporary geopolitical challenges.
