Dr Andrew Simpson is a Lecturer in Exercise and Respiratory Physiology at the University of Hull, affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences and the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences. His research focuses on respiratory physiology, exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, asthma management, and mHealth technology. He completed his doctorate at Brunel University in 2015, investigating the pathophysiology of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction in athletes, and holds an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science.
His recent publications highlight clinical trials on breathlessness interventions, asthma diagnostics, and sports science applications. Notably, he explores the therapeutic use of facial airflow in chronic breathlessness and evaluates exercise guidelines for asthma patients.
