Andrew Pelling

Andrew Pelling is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Ottawa and CEO of Pelling Creative Inc. His research examines cellular mechanical properties using scanning probe microscopy and genetic techniques.

Research focuses on: (1) Nanoscale mechanical responses of cellular systems; (2) Genetic and architectural control of mechanotransduction pathways; (3) Biofabrication and tissue engineering innovations. The Pelling Lab develops experimental approaches combining atomic force microscopy, optical techniques, and computational modeling.

Publications explore mechanical dynamics during apoptosis, cell transformation interfaces, cytoskeletal regulation in mitosis, and nanoscale microbial characterization. Holds expertise in biophysics instrumentation development.
