Andrew Morrison

Andrew Morrison is a Lecturer in the School of Psychology, Sport and Sensory Science at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), affiliated with the Cambridge Centre for Sport and Exercise Sciences (CCSES). He joined ARU in November 2017 after previous roles as a Lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University and in the Education Department of the Professional Golfers' Association. His academic background includes a BA in Applied Golf Management Studies (University of Birmingham), an MSc in Sport and Exercise Biomechanics (University of Roehampton), and a PhD focused on the golf coaching-biomechanics interface (University of Ulster).

Dr. Morrison's research explores human movement coordination with emphases on:

• Biomechanics of gait and running
• Motor control in sports performance
• Golf swing dynamics and injury prevention
• Adaptive movement in clinical and disability contexts

His work integrates motion analysis, non-linear dynamics, and rehabilitation science, extending to military ergonomics and visual impairment adaptations.

His publications (2018-2023) demonstrate consistent focus on sports biomechanics, gait analysis, and applied movement science, with methodological strengths in 3D motion capture, electromyography, and clinical validation protocols. Recent work addresses technology-enabled assessment (e.g., smartphone sensors) and population-specific interventions (diabetes, visual impairment, aging).
