Andrew Midgley is the Course Leader for Foundation Acting at Rose Bruford College. He trained at the same institution in Community Theatre Arts during the early 1980s and has since held diverse roles in theatre education and practice. His career includes membership in Ed Burman’s InterAction Theatre Company (performing/directing/writing) and 15 years at BRIT School in Croydon (1995–2010), where he also served as Post-16 Pastoral Manager. In 2006, he lectured at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia, focusing on Drama as a Process for Learning.
His research interests center on the dynamic between audiences and the creative process of theatre-making. He holds an MA in Writing for Performance from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Midgley’s work emphasizes innovative theatrical practices that blur boundaries between performers and spectators, informed by both practical experience and academic inquiry.
