Andrew M. Garcia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at East Texas A&M University. His research focuses on child abuse and maltreatment, particularly the longitudinal effects of childhood emotional abuse, as well as intimate partner violence (IPV), media framing of domestic violence, and social psychological theories of identity.
He holds a JD from the University of Kansas School of Law, an MS in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University, and a BA in Political Science from Baylor University. His research interests include Crime, Law and Deviance, and Life-Course and Developmental Criminology.
