Andrew Koo

Dr. Andrew Koo is a Neurosurgery Associate Research Scientist and resident in neurological surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He holds an MD from Yale School of Medicine (2020) and a BS in Public Health and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2015). His research focuses on improving clinical decision-making in neurosurgery through healthcare utilization analysis, cost optimization, and outcomes research. He has received notable awards including the NIH T35 Research Grant and the Heinrich Quincke Research Scholarship. His work spans neurovascular interventions, stroke management, and disparities in spinal surgery outcomes. Key collaborations include studies on aneurysm treatment efficacy, procedural volume impacts on mortality, and the role of immune mechanisms in vascular pathologies.
