About
Dr. Andrew Kao is an Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics at the University of Greenwich. He holds a BSc in Physics from Imperial College London, an MSc in Computational Science, and a PhD in Thermoelectric Magnetohydrodynamics from the University of Greenwich.
His research focuses on numerical modeling of magnetic field and fluid flow effects on alloy microstructure evolution during solidification processes. He leads development of the parallelized ThermoElectric Solidification Algorithm (TESA) code, applied to turbine blade casting, additive manufacturing, and undercooled growth.
