Andrew Hongo

Andrew Hongo is Assistant Professor in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts at San Francisco State University. As Broadcast Journalism and Video Production advisor, he teaches courses focused on impactful media storytelling. Hongo brings professional experience from NBC News' Dateline, where he produced segments on social justice issues and received an Emmy Award for coverage of President Obama's farewell speech.

His creative work includes the documentary 'Legacy' examining street children in post-Khmer Rouge Cambodia. Hongo holds degrees from Yale University (BA) and New York University (MA), blending academic training with practical journalism expertise in his teaching approach.
