Andrew Holder is an Associate Professor at Harvard Graduate School of Design and co-principal of The LADG architectural practice. His work examines how buildings become actors in the built environment and connects architectural form to broader theoretical contexts.
Research interests focus on contemporary architectural practice and theory, with emphasis on building agency in urban contexts. His built projects include residential designs in Los Angeles and Maine, plus an architectural anthropology of Mount Washington suburbs.
Holder has received multiple recognitions including two P/A awards and the Architectural League of New York's League Prize. His writing has been published in academic journals and books including 'Inscriptions: Architecture Before Speech.'
