Dr. Andrew Hogan is a Professor at Maynooth University’s Faculty of Science & Engineering, within the Biology department under the Human Health Institute. He leads the Obesity Immunology Research Group, focusing on obesity’s impact on immune systems and co-morbid diseases like Type 2 Diabetes and cancer. His work involves clinical partnerships with institutions such as St. Vincent’s University Hospital and CHI Crumlin. Hogan’s research has produced over 60 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals like Nature Immunology and Science Signaling.
Education: Hogan completed undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Maynooth University, followed by a Newman Fellowship in Obesity at University College Dublin (UCD) and a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School. His research spans innate immunity, metabolic disorders, and GLP-1 therapy effects.
