Andrew Gumley

Andrew Gumley is a Professor of Psychological Therapy at the University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Institute of Health and Wellbeing. His research focuses on psychological interventions for psychosis, including CBT for relapse prevention, compassion-focused therapy, and digital health interventions. He leads the Psychosis Research Group, investigating clinical trials, developmental pathways to mental health difficulties, and integrated care models. Gumley has held grants from NIHR, CSO Scottish Government, and the MRC, and collaborates internationally with institutions like the University of Copenhagen and University of Melbourne. He is Editor of Psychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice and advises organizations such as Bipolar Scotland. Beyond academia, he enjoys cycling, sea kayaking, and wine.
