Andrew Godwin

Professor Andrew Godwin is Professor of Commercial Law and Director of the Melbourne Law Masters program at the University of Melbourne. He serves as Joint Associate Director of the Corporate Law and Financial Regulation Research Program at the Melbourne Centre for Commercial Law and Associate Director (Commercial law) of the Asian Law Centre.

His research spans financial regulation, corporate and insolvency law, property law, and legal profession regulation. He has published extensively in academic and professional journals, including co-authoring foundational legal texts.

Professor Godwin has served as Special Counsel and Acting General Counsel at the Australian Law Reform Commission and consulted for numerous regulatory bodies including ASIC, APRA, and the World Bank. He maintains professional qualifications in both Australia and England.
