Andrew Fleming is a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Newcastle, where he directs the Precision Mechatronics Lab. His research focuses on nanopositioning systems, atomic force microscopy, and piezoelectric actuator design.
He has authored three books on nanopositioning technologies and holds patents impacting precision instrumentation worldwide. Recent innovations include techniques for high-speed imaging, subsurface characterization, and soft robotic control.
