Dr. Andrew Finney is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Keele University's School of Nursing and Midwifery. He holds a PhD in Health Sciences, a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing, and a Post Graduate Certificate of Higher Education (PGCHE). His career includes clinical practice in rheumatology, leadership in NHS-funded programs, and research roles at Keele's Primary Care Centre. Finney leads the 'Fundamentals in General Practice Nursing' program commissioned by NHS England and serves as Evidence-Based Practice Lead for Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffs CCG, promoting evidence appraisal in primary care.
His research focuses on primary care nursing, osteoarthritis management, and evidence-based practice, particularly in geriatric and musculoskeletal health. Key projects include the MOSAICS trial (Management of Osteoarthritis in Consultations) and the ENHANCE study integrating osteoarthritis/depression care into long-term condition reviews.
Recent publications emphasize telehealth innovations, clinical guideline implementation, and nursing workforce development, with recurring themes in multidisciplinary care models and patient safety.
