Andrew F. Emerson is a Lecturer at Western Carolina University's College of Business, where he teaches legal courses in the Department of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, and Business Law. Prior to his academic career, he practiced as a business litigation lawyer in Dallas, Texas, for 25 years, representing major corporations, banks, and the FDIC in state and federal courts, including the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

His research interests focus on creditors' rights in bankruptcy and legal implications of Title IX lawsuits in higher education, including due process challenges and the 2020 Title IX Final Rule.
