Andrew Dunning is the R.W. Hunt Curator of Medieval Manuscripts at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, and a Fellow in Book History at Jesus College, Oxford. His research bridges medieval European history and postcolonial studies, focusing on the ideological use of medievalism in Victorian Canada and its impact on cultural narratives.
His work reconstructs medieval textual communities, emphasizing oral performance and memory as tools for analyzing manuscripts. He is currently writing a book on the legacy of Saint Frideswide in Oxford and contributes to the Digital Analysis of Chant Transmission (DACT) project, funded by SSHRC, which explores digital methodologies in understanding cultural transmission.
