Andrew Chitty

Andrew Chitty is an Emeritus Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Sussex, affiliated with the Faculty of Media, Arts and Humanities. He holds a BA in Developmental Psychology and MA in Philosophy from Sussex, and a DPhil in Philosophy from Oxford on 'Needs in the Philosophy of History: Rousseau to Marx'. His teaching spans courses on Hegel, Marx, Kant, ethics, and social/political philosophy. His research focuses on recognition theory, Marxist philosophy, and the historical development of social and political thought.

He maintains online bibliographies on Hegel, Marx, and social/political philosophy.
