Andrew C. Layden

Andrew C. Layden is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), part of the College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. from Yale University. His research focuses on astrophysics, particularly photometry and spectroscopy of variable stars in old stellar populations, including RR Lyrae, Cepheids, and long-period variables. Layden’s work emphasizes determining stellar properties, chemical abundances, and kinematics.
