Andrew Buss is Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Geography, College of Liberal Arts, Temple University, where he teaches on a part-time basis. Concurrently he serves as Deputy Chief Information Officer for Innovation Management in the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology, leading initiatives that embed innovation capacity within municipal government and broaden public access to technology.

Research & Professional Focus
His work sits at the intersection of geography, public policy, and civic technology. He designs programs that expand digital inclusion—such as the KEYSPOT network of 77 community technology centers—and institutionalizes innovation practice inside city agencies through the Academy for Municipal Innovation and the municipally-operated Innovation Lab.
Current Projects & Teams
Buss currently directs the Innovation Management group inside Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology. The team is experimenting with an in-government innovation consulting model and manages the Innovation Fund that resources pilot projects.
