Andrew Burkemper is an Assistant Professor of Business and Director of the Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Coker University since 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, alongside an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship and a B.B.A. in Management. His research focuses on corporate entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial orientation, creativity, and innovation, with particular emphasis on effectuation theory and meta-analytic studies of opportunity recognition. His work bridges theoretical debates and practical applications in entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Dr. Burkemper's academic contributions include over a dozen peer-reviewed articles examining topics such as resource orchestration in social entrepreneurship, director-level influences on corporate innovation, and cross-country analyses of entrepreneurial opportunity identification.
