Andrew Besmer

Andrew Besmer is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Winthrop University's College of Business and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. from UNC Charlotte and focuses on research areas including Information Security, Privacy Technologies, and Educational Pedagogy. His work emphasizes user-centric privacy mechanisms, interdisciplinary computing education, and modern software infrastructure.

Dr. Besmer has been recognized with the 2018 Outstanding Junior Professor and 2022-2023 Thompson Scholar awards. His research spans mobile privacy policy design, social media security, and classroom innovations during the pandemic.
