Andrew Ackerman

Andrew Ackerman is an Associate Professor in the Fine Arts/Visual Arts program at Nipissing University, part of the Faculty of Arts and Science - Fine Arts and English Studies. He is a full-time faculty member specializing in sculpture, extended media, and interdisciplinary installation practices. His work explores spatial, tactile, and embodied experiences through material-based techniques like modeling, casting, and fabrication.

Research & Practice: Andrew’s practice focuses on collaborative and interdisciplinary installations, such as Keeping Time (Martha Street Studio), Embodied Terrains, and im•pulse (Ice Follies Biennial). His exhibitions include venues like the Alberta Craft Council, Santa Paula Museum of Fine Art, and the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art.

Teaching: He teaches courses in sculpture, interdisciplinary studio practice, drawing, painting, and anatomy.
