Andrej Andreev

Andrej Andreev is a Research Scientist in Polar Terrestrial Environmental Systems at Alfred Wegener Institute. His research focuses on pollen-based environmental reconstructions of Polar regions during the Pliocene, Pleistocene, and Holocene periods.

Using palynological records from Arctic lake sediments, he investigates vegetation and climate dynamics during glacial-interglacial transitions, particularly in Siberia and Chukotka. His work contributes to understanding long-term climate variability in permafrost regions.
