Andreia Leite

Andreia Leite is a Visiting Assistant Professor at NOVA University Lisbon’s School of Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology and Statistics. She actively supports research projects under the Horizonte program and contributes to public health training and methodological development.

• PhD in Vaccine Epidemiology, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
• MSc in Biostatistics, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon
• MSc in Public Health, Umeå University

Her research spans infectious disease epidemiology, focusing on vaccine safety, TB diagnosis delays, SARS-CoV-2 epidemiology, and quasi-experimental designs. Recent work includes population-based studies on Chagas disease and community-acquired pneumonia in Portugal.

Andreia collaborates with institutions like the Comprehensive Health Research Centre (CHRC) and the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge. She contributes to public health initiatives, including pandemic surveillance and patient safety in perioperative care.

She is also a member of the Technical Committee on Vaccination and leads epidemiological surveillance system development. Her methodological expertise includes leveraging electronic health records and quasi-experimental approaches for public health evaluation.
