Andreas Wieck

Prof. Dr. Andreas Wieck is a full Professor of Applied Solid State Physics at the Ruhr University Bochum, affiliated with the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy. He leads the Chair of Applied Solid State Physics, focusing on semiconductor research and device development.

Education

• Physics Diploma (Dipl.-Physiker) from the University of Hamburg (1984–1987)

His work spans fundamental and applied solid-state physics, with emphasis on:

Prof. Wieck has secured funding for numerous initiatives, including DFG research grants on Auger processes in quantum dots, MERCUR funding for semiconductor studies, and participation in international collaborations like TRR160, ML4Q, and ITN-MSCA 4-Photon. His projects include completed efforts such as QuCOM, QuaHLRep, and Q.Link.X.
