Andreas Stierle

Andreas Stierle is a Professor for Nanoscience at the University of Hamburg and a leading scientist at DESY. He is also responsible for organizing the DESY Nanolab as a user facility.

His research focuses on investigating the structure and physical-chemical properties of nanoscale systems under diverse conditions, utilizing synchrotron radiation-based methods and complementary laboratory techniques. This work enhances fundamental understanding of nano-material interfaces relevant to anti-corrosion and energy conversion processes.
