Dr. Andreas Pfisterer is a researcher at the Institute for Music Research within the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Würzburg. He has been working as a research assistant on the edition project Corpus monodicum since 2015, focusing on monodic music of the Latin Middle Ages.
His research interests span Musicology, Medieval Music, Monodic Music, Latin Philology, and Ethnomusicology. Dr. Pfisterer's work is particularly centered around the Corpus monodicum project, which appears to be a significant scholarly edition of monophonic music from the medieval period.
Dr. Pfisterer completed his habilitation in 2009 and has previously held academic positions including Academic Council at Regensburg (2006-2015), visiting professor at the University of Vienna (Summer semester 2010), teaching assignment at the Würzburg University of Music (2010/11), and acting professor at the University of Hamburg (2014-2015).
