Andreas Marchetti is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Romance Studies, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Paderborn University. He holds a PhD in Political Science (2009) and an MA in Political Science (2002) from Bonn University, along with a Maitrise de science politique from Toulouse University (1999).

- European integration and the future of the EU
- EU Neighborhood Policy (ENP) and cross-border partnerships
- German-French relations and regional governance
- Political education and state-society interfaces
Recent publications include analyses of municipal cooperation frameworks, historical federal dynamics, and EU border politics. He has co-edited The Routledge Handbook on the European Neighbourhood Policy (2018), featuring his chapter on EU buffer zones. Current projects examine Aachen Treaty implementation and Sparkassen evolution in EU contexts.
Teaching spans EU policy, neighborhood dynamics, and European identity at institutions including Sciences Po and Al-Quds University. He previously held roles at Bonn University's ZEI, Ifri Paris, and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
