Prof. Dr. Andreas Lischewski is a Professor of Educational Science at Alanus University since 2013. He previously held the Chair of Pedagogy with a focus on Early Childhood Education at the Catholic University of Eichstätt (2011–2013), and was part of the Comenius Research Center at the University of Passau (2008–2011), where he habilitated with a thesis on Comenius and modern pedagogical mentality. He holds a Venia legendi in General Pedagogy and is co-editor of the Comenius Yearbook.
His research focuses on the history of pedagogy, particularly Johann Amos Comenius, reform pedagogy, and educational philosophy. He also explores contemporary educational challenges such as free alternative schools and the philosophical underpinnings of modern education. His work bridges historical analysis with critical theory, addressing topics like moral education, crisis management in pedagogy, and the intersection of art and cultural pedagogy.
Lischewski has received the 2002 Science Prize from the Lower Franconian Memorial Year Foundation and has extensive experience in interdisciplinary education, including studies in psychology, sociology, philosophy, and Catholic theology. His academic contributions span monographs, edited volumes, and peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing rigorous historical research and philosophical engagement with educational practices.
