Research Focus: Developing computational tools for next-generation sequencing, leveraging deep learning and transfer learning on large-scale genomic datasets to enable genotype-phenotype predictions. Led the first Whole Genome Sequencing initiative in the UAE and contributed to genomic epidemiology during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Key Collaborations: Affiliated with the Khalifa University Center for Biotechnology and the Center for Cyber-Physical Systems. Currently serves as Principal Investigator for a CIRA-funded project on large-scale genomic data platforms.
Teaching: Courses include Algorithms in Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, and Foundations of Computer Science.
