Professor Andreas Gürsching holds a position in Music Theory at the University of the Arts Bremen since 1998. His career includes studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts (Essen) in composition, electronic music, and violin, followed by a DAAD scholarship for composition under Alvin Lucier at Wesleyan University (USA). He has extensive experience with Javanese Gamelan and ethnomusicology. As a composer, his works have been performed internationally by ensembles like Nuove Sincronie and Capricorn Ensemble.
