Andreas Emminger

Andreas Emminger serves as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg), leading an academic unit with 18 professors and over 10 employees that offers six study programs across bachelor's and master's levels. The faculty maintains partnerships with 12 universities from 6 countries and features top-equipped laboratories and workshop areas spanning four levels.

His academic specialization focuses on Design and Construction with emphasis on Facade Constructions. His research interests encompass sustainable building practices, historical building research, and building preservation, particularly within Regensburg's World Heritage context and surrounding rural areas. He is associated with the CyberCraft Lab where he explores the integration of traditional craftsmanship with digital technologies including real-time sensorics, cloud computing, AI/ML applications, and VR/AR interfaces. His work bridges practical architectural design with technical innovation and historical preservation.

Prof. Emminger has substantial international engagement through multiple exchange programs including DAAD-ISAP with the University of Johannesburg (2017-2019), Erasmus+ 'Iacobus+ Culture, Heritage and Integration' with European and Armenian partners (2018-2020), and DAAD-ISAP Architecture Exchange with PUC Minas Gerais in Brazil (2020-2022).

As Dean, he serves on the extended university management and as deputy member of the internal accreditation committee, playing a key role in the faculty's recognition in the CHE-Hochschulranking where architecture programs achieved top placement in 15 of 16 criteria.
