Andreas Boldt

Andreas Boldt is a Senior Tutor in German Studies at Maynooth University's School of Modern Languages, working part-time with 24 years of teaching experience. His academic home is within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, where he specializes in German language, history, and culture education.

His research explores:

• German historiography from the 15th-21st centuries
• Cultural perceptions of Germany internationally
• Representations of German identity (Heimat) in literature
• Business German pedagogy
• Transnational migration studies

Boldt maintains active affiliations with organizations including the Ranke-Gesellschaft, Friends of National Collections of Ireland (as Council Member), and Maynooth University's History Society (as President).

He has developed extensive teaching resources, including collaborative textbooks like Unternehmen Deutsch, Enterprise German in Ireland (2021-2022) and digital skills training modules. With 17 books and 123 articles published, his scholarship frequently examines historical methodology and German-Irish cultural connections.
