Andreas Bark

Prof. Andreas Bark is a Professor of Highway Engineering and Surveying at Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences. He leads the Department of Road Engineering and Surveying. His career includes roles as a research assistant at TU Darmstadt (1990–1994), lecturer at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (1991–2001), and project engineer at Durth Roos Consulting GmbH (1994–2002). He obtained his doctorate in Civil Engineering from TU Darmstadt in 1994. Currently, he serves as a Scientific Consultant at Durth Roos Consulting and chairs committees in road engineering, including the Research Association for Road and Transport Engineering's Steering Committee 2 "Road Design" and Working Committees on road safety audits and assessments.

Research focuses on road design, transport infrastructure, and safety standards. Professional activities include steering road design strategies, motorway planning, and country road engineering. He actively contributes to road safety initiatives through his committee roles.
