Andrea VENTURA

Andrea VENTURA serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Physics "Ennio De Giorgi" at the University of Salento since December 23, 2019, following his position as a confirmed university researcher from November 1, 2007 to December 22, 2019.

His academic background includes doctoral research on charged kaon decays with the KLOE detector at DAFNE and significant contributions to the ATLAS muon spectrometer project. Currently, he holds key positions including Member of the Physics and Committees Office of the ATLAS experiment (since January 15, 2024) and previously served as Muon Trigger Manager for ATLAS (2022-2023).

His research spans experimental particle physics with focus on:

• Nuclear and Subnuclear Physics
• Elementary Particle Physics
• Detector development and instrumentation
• Data analysis techniques for high-energy physics

Professor VENTURA has held numerous leadership roles including Coordinator of the Scientific Degree Plan for Physics, Rector's Delegate for University Performance, and INFN Lecce Representative for Technology Transfer. His teaching portfolio includes General Physics I for Mathematics students and Laboratory II for Physics students across multiple academic years.

He maintains active involvement in major research initiatives including RADIOLAB and the ERN-APULIA project, demonstrating continued engagement in both fundamental research and practical applications of particle physics.
