Andrea Svorinic

Andrea Svorinic is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Geneva (UniGE), working on joint projects between the Boland (UniGE Science) and Stoeber teams. She joined the lab in March 2024 after completing her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she studied the biochemistry of proteins involved in Wnt signaling under the supervision of Prof. Christof Niehrs and Prof. Irmi Sinning.

• Education: Bachelor's and Master's in Molecular Biology from the University of Zagreb, Croatia; Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Heidelberg, Germany.

Research Focus: Andrea's work centers on the molecular mechanisms of receptor signaling, particularly the biochemistry of proteins in the Wnt signaling pathway—a critical area in developmental biology, cancer research, and cellular communication. Her expertise bridges structural biology, protein function analysis, and signal transduction studies.
