About
Professor Andrea Streit is a Professor of Developmental Neurobiology and Dean of Research at King’s College London’s Dental Institute. She leads the Centre for Craniofacial & Regenerative Biology, focusing on sensory organ development and regeneration. Her research investigates molecular mechanisms controlling cell fate decisions in the nervous system, particularly in the eye, ear, and nose. Streit’s work combines experimental and computational approaches to uncover gene regulatory networks and epigenetic controls underpinning sensory organ formation. She has held leadership roles, including Dean for Research (2013–2018), and contributes to national/international research evaluation panels.
