Andrea Smith

Andrea Smith is a Professor of Historic Preservation at the University of Mary Washington (UMW). She holds a B.A. from Brown University, an M.S. from the University of Vermont, and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland at College Park. Her work focuses on historic preservation practices, cultural heritage, and community engagement initiatives.

Professor Smith is actively involved in UMW’s Historic Preservation Club, including organizing the annual "Graves and Ghouls" graveyard tour event. She also serves as a featured speaker for local historical commemorations, such as the Memorial Day Observance at Fredericksburg’s Confederate Cemetery.
