Andrea Negrete

Andrea Negrete is an Assistant Professor at Wesleyan University and a Fulbright U.S. Scholar conducting research at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico (2024-2025). Her work focuses on community psychology, with an emphasis on understanding the psychological impacts of systemic oppression, immigration policies, and marginalized populations' resilience strategies. She explores topics such as immigrant youth experiences, anti-immigration contexts, and collective resistance to fascism through mixed-method approaches.

Her research interests include developmental psychology, social justice in education, and mental health disparities among Black, Latinx, and immigrant communities. Key projects examine how structural inequities shape youth identity, academic trajectories, and community mobilization.
