Dr. Andrea Middleton is an Associate Teaching Professor of Art History specializing in ancient Mediterranean art at Bowling Green State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Art History from Pennsylvania State University (2022), MA from the University of Memphis (2013), and BA in Classical Studies from Kalamazoo College (2010), with her primary expertise in ancient Egyptian art.
Her teaching portfolio includes Western Art surveys and specialized courses on Greek, Etruscan, Roman, and Egyptian art. Middleton's research examines cultural interchange and art's role in creating/resisting political power systems in ancient Egypt and the Mediterranean, with additional focus on art historical reception theory.
