Andrea Lioy

Andrea Lioy is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins. She combines academic practice with creative work in writing, film, and art criticism.

Her research spans interdisciplinary intersections between modernist literature, visual communication, and cultural theory. Notable creative outputs include directing the film The Last Day (2009), writing for art projects like Axel Vogelsang's Lost Cosmonaut (2004), and developing the script INK (2011) about Japanese philosopher Kuki Shūzō.

Lioy has served as a visiting lecturer at London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins MA Communication Design before becoming Subject Tutor in Context (2002). Her current work bridges creative writing methodologies with design practice.
