Andrea Halim

Dr. Andrea Halim is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation at Yale School of Medicine, where she serves as Associate Program Director for both Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation and the Yale Combined Hand Surgery Fellowship. She specializes in hand, wrist, and forearm surgery, with expertise in carpal tunnel syndrome, trauma, arthritis, nerve injuries, and tendon pathology.

Her educational background includes a BA in Biology from Yale University (2006), an MD from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (2010), Orthopaedic residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital (2015), and fellowship training at Brown University (2016).

Dr. Halim's research spans multiple areas of upper extremity orthopaedics, with particular focus on scaphoid fractures, wrist arthroplasty, and diagnostic techniques for upper extremity infections. She has published extensively on surgical trends, outcomes, and innovative techniques in hand surgery, with recent work examining cannabis effects on fracture healing and national trends in thumb arthritis interventions.
